David and Donna Houchin pose in front of their fireplace, surrounded by their mallard decoys and a framed picture painted by Mr. Houchin.
The couple has a bookshelves full of birding guides filling their Annapolis home.
The Houchins fill their bird-feeders weekly with sunflower and black-oil sunflower seeds.
They use a dead tree in their backyard to hang their feeders and bird houses, which a screech owl is currently inhabiting.
Their backyard is a sanctuary for birds of all kinds.
